Dane County Executive Melissa Agard on Monday announced the recent success of the county’s new residential food scrap collection program, which has surpassed 1,000 participating households and diverted over 50 tons of food waste from the landfill since its launch earlier this year. The program is offered in partnership with Purple Cow Organics.

The Dane County Food Scrap Program offers both drop-off sites for residents and a paid subscription model for businesses to divert food waste from the landfill and into composting.
