The county’s dreams for a two-story expansion of the Alliant Energy Center’s Exhibition Hall are being scaled back due to costs and the job market.
According to a report from The Capital Times, Dane County is working on a downscaled plan that limits expansion to one level but adds more exhibition hall space and a ballroom.
By doing so, according to Strang, the Madison architecture firm handling the project, the redevelopment will be able to stay in line with the $80 million target. As originally proposed last October, the full redevelopment would have cost about $50 million more.
