The Dane County Board of Supervisors signed off on several actions to help small business owners and residents through the economic hardships of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a report from The Capital Times.

The first measure approves a $4 million contract with the Dane Buy Local Foundation for an emergency small business grant program to provide funds to keep businesses open. A partnership between Dane Buy Local, the Latino Chamber of Commerce, Madison’s Black Chamber of Commerce, and the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corp. will help identify local businesses to receive the grants.

The board also approved a contract with the Tenant Resource Center to disperse an expected $8.5 million in federal funds aimed at preventing eviction and promoting housing stability services.
