The Madison City Council has delayed a vote on another version of the Downtown Recovery Program that proposes $60,000 toward helping small Downtown businesses repair damages from looting and break-ins earlier this summer. Council members have separated a $750,000 equity program aimed at supporting entrepreneurs of color that was originally tied to the proposal.
The Council voted 12–7 to delay a decision until Sept. 1 so that residents and a city agency can contribute opinions.
