The Madison City Council approved a phase-out of late night food carts downtown by 2023; however, it also approved a new amendment to allow late night vending on Library Mall at the west end of State Street.

The idea is that by containing the carts to a singular location — perhaps even making them more family friendly — late night crowds will be easier to manage, according to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal.
