Costco sales were $23.92 billion in April, an increase of nearly $3 billion over the same month last year.
According to Homepagenews, sales were up 7.8% year over year.
Store traffic was also up 3.8% over the same period, with the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast portions of the country being the best performing regions.
Some of the sales increases can be credited to an extra shopping day this year due to the date of Easter moving earlier to April 5 this year, which Costco said gave sales a boost of about 2%.

Costco operates 637 warehouse stores in the United States and Puerto Rico.
