The Capital Times reports that contractor Dave Jones LLC of Madison is accusing the owner of the east side’s Meadowlands Apartments — designated a chronic public nuisance by the city — of failing to pay for almost $270,000 worth of work on the property.
KCG Development, the owner of the property located at 6834 Milwaukee St., has meanwhile filed for dozens of evictions to remove tenants from the complex, which has been the source of frequent disturbances. KCG has taken steps to abate the property’s nuisance designation, partnering with JustDane, Focused Interruption Coalition, and others to provide support for residents, and working with the City Council and Madison Police Department.
Dave Jones LLC has filed three claims against the Meadowlands Apartments, which total $269,994, for failing to pay for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection installation work. In each case, the contractor has asked the court to impose a construction lien to ensure that payment is made.
