A contact tracing app to track positive COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin will launch next week, according to a release from the office of Gov. Tony Evers. The voluntary mobile app will assist in notifying contacts of those with a positive test so that they may take quicker action in protecting others.
Using Bluetooth technology and available from Google Play, the app is turned on in the user’s phone settings. The app does not collect or use device location information, so users will remain anonymous.Â
