Concerts on the Square releases schedule for 40th season

Concerts on the Square, a summer tradition in Madison, announced the schedule for its 40th season this week. This anniversary season features three-time Grammy nominated Latin band Tiempo Libre, trombone virtuoso Joël Vaïsse, the 17-year-old winner of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra’s Young Artist Concert Competition, the return of the 1812 Overture to the Capitol Square, a variety of works by Dr. Bill Banfield, a return of Jeans ‘N’ Classics with favorite hits from the 80s, 90s, and 00s, and rounding out the season is Bridget Kibbey on harp and a special collaboration with Madison Ballet.

Concerts will be held on the Capitol lawn starting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evenings. The events are free and open to the public. Performances run June 28–Aug. 2.
