A community informational meeting concerning the Meadowlands Apartments — an affordable housing complex on Madison’s far east side — has been set for 5:30 p.m. today, according to The Capital Times. The complex, nicknamed “M Block” by tenants, is the subject of police calls nearly every day.
The meeting will be led by Madison City Council President Jael Currie and held both in person at Madison’s Pinney Library at 516 Cottage Grove Road as well as via Zoom. Currie is also the alder representing District 16, which includes the apartment property.
On April 19, the city declared the Meadowlands, at 6810 Milwaukee St., a chronic public nuisance due to excessive police calls and frequent complaints of mismanagement by the developer, Indianapolis-based KCG Development.
