Several performing arts organizations, including Overture Center for the Arts, have partnered with Rogers Behavioral Health, a not-for-profit provider of mental health and addiction services, to provide five $1,000 scholarships to Wisconsin participants in the Dear Evan Hansen “You Will Be Found” College Essay Writing Challenge. The Broadway show-inspired challenge also includes an opportunity to receive a $10,000 college scholarship at the national level, funded by Dear Evan Hansen lead producer Stacey Mindich.
Overture Center for the Arts, Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, and Marcus Performing Arts Center have teamed up with Roger Behavioral Health to offer the contest to junior and senior-level high school students. In addition to the scholarships, a virtual workshop will be presented to provide tips and tricks for writing an impactful essay in the college application process. Participants are asked to respond to a writing prompt asking how they have managed to ensure those around them were a little less alone in recent months, or a moment where they have found comfort in connection. State winners will be announced in early May.
