As part of its previously announced bankruptcy proceedings, retailer Claire’s in a court filing this week listed over 290 stores it plans to close, including multiple in Wisconsin, WMTV15 reports.
Closed locations include shops in West Towne Mall and East Towne Mall, as well as outlet stores in Wisconsin Dells, Johnson Creek and Janesville.
The company announced last week that it sold its North American business for over $100 million to a private equity firm, which said it plans to preserve the chain in a downsized form.
Stores set to close include some of Claire’s Icing brand stores. Stores are expected to close on a rolling basis.
