Madison would like to add another tax incremental financing district to the west side of the Capitol Square, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal.

Valued at $130.7 million, the new district would encompass some street improvements on the Square already in the works for 2016. It would also provide $25.1 million in loans for two private developments: Hovde Properties’ renovation of the AT&T building, and Urban Land Interests’ AnchorBank redevelopment project.

Another Hovde project could also be included. It would add 100,000 square feet of office space, and possibly bring together the state Historical Society and Veterans Museums.

If approved, it would be the city’s 17th active TIF district.
