City to apply for federal grant for public market

Madison will apply for a $3 million federal grant to help fund the public market project, according to a Capital Timesreport. The grant will attempt to replace a stream of funding that has decreased in value due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The resolution agreed to by Madison’s City Council authorized the city to apply to the U.S. Economic Development Administration for the grant. The total project of the public market is valued at $13 million.
