The Royster Corners redevelopment on Madison’s east side may get closer to completion as the city of Madison is planning to buy 17 properties near Pinney Library, the Wisconsin State Journal reported.

Developer Ruedebusch Development proposed a mixed-use community at the 33-acre site in 2013, but it remains unfinished.

The former Royster-Clark fertilizer plant site along Cottage Grove Road has single-family homes, apartment buildings and a public library facility.
