An east side Salvation Army building is in the city of Madison’s sights.

The 2.57-acre property at 3030 Darbo Drive is valued at $3.3 million. The city plans on buying the property and then leasing it back to the Salvation Army for $1 per year through the end of 2030, the Wisconsin State Journal reported

The purchase would help the Salvation Army fund a new facility at 630 E. Washington Ave.

Once the new facility and move is complete, the city has plans to turn the facility into a community hub.
