The city of Madison announced Wednesday that all ice skating rink locations are open.

A Groove and Glide will be held on Friday at Olbrich, a Skate Cinema event at Elver on Saturday, and a ribbon cutting held Sunday at Door Creek.

The city operates 20 free outdoor ice rinks at 14 parks and designated lagoons. The season runs from Dec. 20 through Feb. 15, depending on ice conditions.

The city recommends checking the status of an ice rink online before skating.
