A proposal by the city of Madison would see it spend $1.8 million for just under nine acres currently used by the East Madison Little League, the Wisconsin State Journal reported

The plan is to use the land to add it to an existing park and also let the league continue to operate on the property at the intersection of Aberg and Packers avenues

The land used to be owned by the Oscar Mayer plant. The city began exploring the land for park usage last year.

The proposal will go to the Finance Committee on April 13, the Board of Park Commissioners on April 15 and back to the council on April 21.
