Wisconsin native Nate Page has been commissioned to create the outdoor sculpture for the Imagination Center at Reindahl Park.
The sculpture is called “The Passage of Being.” The process to choose Page included artist design bids, resident input and feedback from Sandburg Elementary School students.
The sculpture has two sides. One represents a pathway toward nature, while on the other side the community is represented with layers of colors inspired by the colors of flags from Northeast Madison immigrants’ homelands.
One side is reflective and reflects the surrounding park. The sculpture will be about 16 feet tall, 10 feet wide and 30 inches deep.
