City, Metro Transit union employees reach new contract

The city of Madison reached a collective bargaining agreement with Teamsters Local 120, representing Metro Transit operators and mechanics.  

Highlights of the new contract include: 

  • A 3% per year pay increase to ensure parity with other city workers, including a one-time bonus to adjust salaries to inflation;

  • Increased collaboration between the city and Local 120 members regarding work conditions and guidelines;

  • A quicker progression in vacation accrual for all employees;

  • Guaranteed personal protection equipment for all employees; and 

  • The continuation of recent efforts to ensure employees have safe working conditions and support.
