The city of Madison on Wednesday launched its 2025 MadiSUN solar programs, which help businesses, nonprofit organizations and homeowners benefit from solar energy, WKOW reports.
MadiSUN will aid these groups through two programs aimed at streamlining the transition to solar power through education and collaboration. Those programs include Group Buy for Homes and the Backyard Solar Grant.
Group Buy for Homes brings together area households and their collective buying power to facilitate deals on rooftop solar at home. The Backyard Solar Grant program helps provide solar power access to community organizations and businesses across the city and outline its economic and environmental benefits.
MadiSUN so far has led to $8 million in citywide solar investments.
