Rising construction costs have compelled the city of Madison to increase its investment in south side Village on Park mall improvements by $5 million, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The total investment by the city is now $16.2 million to support the redevelopment of the Village Mall area including the creation of the Urban League of Greater Madison’s Black Business Hub. The $25.5 million Hub will be a four-story, 76,000-square-foot center of commerce and entrepreneurism led by Black business owners and entrepreneurs.
