The city of Madison’s Housing Tracker has been updated with the latest building and occupancy data for June, which shows more than 1,000 new homes completed so far in 2025. The city said this represents an important step toward its goal to see 15,000 new homes created by 2030.

The city currently has over 4,400 homes under construction, more than 1,000 of which will be affordable units set aside for those making no more than 60% of Madison’s Area Median Income. According to the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA), that translates into $54,540 for individuals, or $77,880 for a household of four people.
