The former home to Gander Mountain and Savers, at 2002 Zeier Road, may become the site of a permanent shelter for homeless men, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal. However, the proposal to relocate the site is drawing objections from neighbors.

After a 10-month search, the city failed an attempt to buy another site and now Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway and Dane County Executive Joe Parisi propose spending $2.6 million for the 31,500-square-foot building on 2.67 acres.
