The Madison Parks Division has created a draft master plan for extensive improvements to the aging Vilas Park, according to a Wisconsin State Journal story.
The process for creating the $10–$15 million draft plan included initial public engagement feedback, and the plan currently includes a new main park shelter, two new open shelters, a renovated beach bathhouse on Lake Wingra, flexible picnic space, new courts for basketball, tennis, pickleball, and four square, and new multiuse paths. Stakeholders, including area residents, will weigh in on the details of the draft plan.
