The Madison City Council has delayed its vote on buying the former Gander Mountain building near East Towne Mall, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The vote to make the $2.6 million purchase at 2002 Zeier Road will be delayed until May 4.

The council heard from residents, advocates for the homeless, and local businesses and ultimately voted 161 to delay the vote. The later vote could mean a new composition of the council for the vote, as 11 of the 20 council seats are included in next week’s spring primary election.
