The Madison City Council has voted 13-7 in favor of a North Central Group proposal to build a 10-story hotel on the corner of East Washington Avenue and North Webster Street, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal. The decision irked opponents concerned about shadows the building would cast and views that would be impeded at the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Robert M. Lamp House property around the corner.
