The Madison Common Council unanimously approved a plan for south Madison that envisions a gateway to downtown at South Park Street north of the Beltline, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The blueprint for millions of dollars in development and improvements includes continuing improvements at the Village on Park Mall, an expanded Penn Park, up to 12-story mixed-use buildings for new housing and retail; new streets and paths; and a mini-neighborhood including detached, single-family, owner-occupied homes along Wingra Creek.
