Several city of Madison garages will have increased hourly rates and permit prices beginning Jan. 1, according to NBC15. The city says the off-street parking cost increases are needed to maintain the facilities, improve services, and ensure safety.

The majority of the hourly rate increases will be between 30–40 cents; the steepest hike is 60 cents more per hour at the Overture Center Garage, located at 318 W. Mifflin St. The Wilson Lot at 20 E. Wilson St. will also have a 24/7 monthly permit rate of $200.

The rate increases were approved by the Transportation Commission on Nov. 8. The last time rates increased was in 2018.

Garages impacted by the increases include the State Street Capitol Garage, the State Street Campus Garage, the Capitol Square North Garage, the Overture Center Garage, the South Livingston Street Garage, and the Wilson Lot. Rate increases for each can be found here.
