The Wispact Foundation awarded the Children’s Theater of Madison with a $4,970 grant for audio description services, Mad’s Theatre reports.
CTM will use the grant to provide audio description services for two of its performances, “The Hobbit,” on Feb. 14 and Disney’s “Newsies: The Musical,” on May 9, to pilot the program.
The plan is to expand the audio description program in the 2027 season.
“By expanding our access program to include audio description, we’re creating more ways for our community members to fully experience CTM productions,” Amy Montoya, director of operations at CTM, said in a statement.
