Even with the slow reopening of the state, the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families reports that child care centers across Wisconsin continue to suffer severe disruption, with nearly 40% of 4,500 providers reporting they are closed, according to a report from the Wisconsin Policy Forum.

Additionally, 19 of 72 counties had closure rates of 50% or higher. The Wisconsin Department of Administration estimates that these closures have affected at least 57,000 children and more than 12,000 child care employees.
