The Playing Field, a child care and early learning center on Madison’s near west side, has opened a second location to serve more of Madison’s most vulnerable children, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal.

The new center, at 2255 Independence Lane, has nearly all 20 spots filled and will provide no-cost care to children from families who have or are experiencing homelessness. Costs for operating the second location are being funded by grants from the city of Madison and the United Way of Dane County.
