Fitchburg-based specialty cheese producer Emmi Roth acquired Great Lakes Cheese’s blue cheese plant in Seymour, Wisconsin, according to a release.
With the acquisition, Emmi Roth now has four Wisconsin locations and employs nearly 300 people, including 50 in Seymour.
Emmi Roth assumes ownership on Feb. 28. Terms were undisclosed. The Wisconsin cheese company is a subsidiary of Emmi Group of Switzerland.
