Checkers, a fast-growing burger and fries drive-thru and walk-up restaurant, is targeting the Madison area and could have as many as nine locations around the area in the near future.
With the addition of Madison, the fast-food franchise — sold to a private-equity company in 2017 for $575 million — is on track to reach 1,200 locations by 2020, according to a Wisconsin State Journalarticle. It already has three locations in Milwaukee and one in Wisconsin Rapids.
