Former University of Wisconsin–Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank announced she will step down as president-elect of Northwestern University to begin cancer treatment at UW Health in Madison. Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce President Zach Brandon responded to the news in a statement: “It is an understatement to say this cancer has picked a fight with the wrong person. Her [Blank’s] grit and determination, combined with the world-class care she will receive at UW Health, give us the utmost hope.”
