Centro announced its “Una Tarde con Denice Frohman” event, scheduled for Sept. 26 at the organization’s newly-opened Calli facilities at 2403 Cypress Way. The event, starting at 5:30 p.m., will be guided by New York poet and performer Denice Frohman, focusing on celebrating the strengths of the Latinx community, elevating individual voices, and exploring personal identity through poetry. A special emphasis will also be placed on engaging and empowering the youth within Madison’s Latinx community.

Frohman, known for her performances reflecting identity, heritage, and social justice, will lead the evening with spoken word presentations. The event will also mark the first signature event taking place at Centro’s new location, a space designed to better serve the community with expanded resources and opportunities.

Attendees can expect an evening of poetry, dialogue, and community-building activities. There will also be an opportunity for young Latinx individuals to engage directly with Denice Frohman and other community leaders.
