The Hispanic Federation (HF) announced Centro Hispano of Dane County as the recipient of the 2024 Community Service Award.
Centro’s mission is to empower youth, strengthen families, and engage the community. Centro’s initiatives provide assistance to immigrants, youth leadership development, and career training programs that focus on upskilling with a holistic approach to retention and advancement. The organization promotes equity in life, education, and work to reduce the impact of systemic racism and significant barriers faced by Latinx in the U.S.
Centro has been an affiliate of the Hispanic Federation since 2020. Each year the Hispanic Federation honors affiliates nationwide at the annual gala in New York City for the lasting impact they make in Latinx communities across the country. Centro was chosen this year out of 660 member organizations.
