Cellular Dynamics International, Inc., which provides human cells in mass quantities for researchers, saw higher revenues in the first quarter of 2014 but also widened its losses. The company reported a net loss of $8.1 million (52 cents/share) on revenues of $2.9 million, compared to last year’s $5.7 million net loss ($3.28/share) on revenues of $2.4 million for the same quarter. Higher R&D costs and expenses related to its first public stock offering last summer were among the reasons cited.
