Madison-based stem-cell developer Cellular Dynamics International Inc. has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Fujifilm Holdings Corp. of Tokyo in an all-cash tender expected to commence no later than April 6. A merger will follow.
According to a release, Fujifilm will acquire all issued and outstanding shares of CDI common stock for $16.50 per diluted share, or about $307 million.
CDI was founded in 2004 and listed on the Nasdaq in July 2013. The company will continue to operate in Madison — where it had 155 employees at the end of last year — and Novato, Calif.
