The Wisconsin chapter of NAWBO announced Wednesday that Cynthia CeCe Brown, leader of C. Renee Consulting and Management Groupis its new advocacy committee chair, which leads public policy efforts

NAWBO is a dues-based organization representing the interests of all women entrepreneurs across all industries, with chapters across the country.

Brown has experience managing campaigns with the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors and the Wisconsin State Senate.

“Over 69,000 federal positions have been cut, many held by the very women these programs were designed to uplift,” Brown said in a statementThis is not abstract policy. This is someone’s mother. Someone’s daughter. Someone’s business. Every attack on DEI is an attack on women.

Every attack on equity is an attack on the entrepreneurs I serve — marginalized women who don’t just need a seat at the table, but who built the table, set it and fed everyone at it. When you strip away diversity initiatives, you don’t create a ‘merit-based’ system — you restore the barriers that kept us out in the first place.
