CDI receives grant for stem cell bank

The California Institute of Regenerative Medicine has sent a notice of grant award to Madison-based Cellular Dynamics International (CDI) for the creation of a $16 million stem cell biobank of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC). CDI will create three iPSC lines for each of 3,000 healthy and diseased individuals for further study on human disease. The three-year, California-based project is expected to lead to the largest iPSC bank in the world.
