Car-X, an automotive repair shop that first opened in 1972, will relocate from 1032 E. Washington Ave. to 2802 E. Johnson Street near Ella’s Deli, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

With all the development occurring in the East Washington corridor, Car-X owner Jeff Bernstein realized that it would be better for the business and customers to relocate.

He sold the building to Stone House Development and will build a larger, 4,100-square-foot auto facility in the much more visible location.

The East Washington location will remain open until the Johnson Street facility is completed, likely this fall.
