Capitol Bank’s Ken Thompson announces retirement

Ken Thompson will be retiring from Capitol Bank on Oct. 9 after 29 years of service.

Thompson was Capitol Bank’s president and CEO from 2003 to 2024, when he became executive chairman.

Going forward, Thompson will remain on the Capitol Bank Board of Directors as chairman.

Thompson joined the Bank in 1996, helping lead the growth of the organization to $600 million in assets and three Madison-area locations. Over the past few years, he has helped to facilitate a leadership transition.
