The Capital Area Pickleball Association (CAPA) announced that the third annual Baird CAPA Cup Tournament will be held at Bakken Park in Cottage Grove from Aug. 15-17, highlighting the nation’s fastest-growing sport.
Over 400 entrants — more than double the entrants of the first CAPA Cup in 2023 — will participate in three days of pickleball competition.
Proceeds from the tournament will be donated to Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County.
The tournament will have four sessions each day, from 8 a.m.-9 p.m., and each session will feature at least two brackets of competition. Brackets are based on skill level, with men’s, women’s and mixed-gender categories.
There are also brackets for players over age 70 and — a first this year — for parent-child teammates. Spectators are welcome.
