The Canada-based Circle K convenience store chain is embarking on an expansion in Wisconsin which would open 60 stores statewide and create 1,200 jobs, according to Wisconsin Public Radio. The expansion is part of a larger effort to open 500 stores globally, with the majority in North America.

Circle K currently has roughly 14,200 stores and about 124,000 employees; around 30 of those stores are in Wisconsin. The new Wisconsin stores represent 10% of facilities planned to open over the next five years.

Circle K also plans to hire locally in the communities where stores open.
