Cambridge State Bank and the Bank of Poynette will merge by the end of the year, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal.
The newly created bank will be named United Community Bank. Employees of both banks are expected to remain.
This merger is more in name only, since the two banks already share executive management — including President Jason Brown — and both have been owned by the South Dakota-based John T. Vucurevich Foundation for over 20 years.
