More than 70restaurants and businesses in the Milwaukee area signed a letter to Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Common Council President Cavalier Johnson asking them for a citywide requirement that masks be worn by patrons and workers to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, according to a Wisbusiness.com report.

The letter argues that without a city mandate, customers may not be compliant and this could result in a higher risk for outbreaks and new stay-at-home orders that could close businesses for good.
