Wisconsin’s Department of Workforce Development is ordering Cave Enterprises LLC, the operator of over 100 Wisconsin-based Burger King restaurants to pay $237,437 in wages owed to teenage employees.

The department reported that Cave Enterprises carried out over 1,600 violations of Wisconsin’s child labor and wage laws, affecting over 600 kids.

A report by Wisconsin Public Radio said Cave Enterprises may choose to pay $828,000 — $500 for each of the violations found by DWD — to resolve the matter without having a court determine the total amount of fines owed.
