The number of Dane County home and duplex permits increased 8.5% in June, and represents the best June since 2007, when 114 were issued, according to MTD Marketing Services of Menasha. There were 102 permits issued for single-family homes and duplexes in June, compared to 97 last year.
Still, the numbers are far off the housing construction heyday between 2002-2005, when the number of June permits ranged between 204 and 258.
