Fans of Culver’s spicy Buffalo chicken tenders will have to go without the popular menu item for a while — perhaps until fall — thanks to a limited supply of chicken nationwide, according to an article in the Racine Journal Times. The culprits appear to be the demise of many chickens in Texas during February’s ice storms, and a pandemic-related reason — labor shortages due to low wages, what some believe are overly generous unemployment benefits, and people choosing to stay home over COVID-19 safety concerns.
